As we all know, our lives have been changed considerably over the last few months to an extent that no one could have predicted. As a result, we have had to adapt to our new circumstances whilst continuing to provide a quality service to our learners and employers.
Over the coming weeks, we will be providing you with an insight into how our staff here at McArthur Dean have coped with and adapted to the changing world we now live in due to Covid-19.
Today, we talk to James Kirkman our AAT Co-ordinator:
“When the lockdown happened, I think it came as a real shock to all of us and we had to quickly change and adapt to the new circumstances faced. As a result, I have found that I have embraced technology even more than I had done before and finally taken the plunge to get broadband at home!
I’ve been delighted with the progress we have all made and surprised myself at how quickly I have adapted to it. Being able to use Teams, Zoom and GoTo in order to continue to deliver our AAT classes has been crucial, and it has helped all of the team to keep in close contact with each other throughout the lockdown.
The learners’ response to the online classes has been amazing. Attendance has been fantastic despite the majority of them being furloughed. It just goes to show how committed the AAT learners really are. On reflection, I would say that the major downside to it all is that I miss the daily face-to-face interaction with colleagues and learners.”
