‘As a company, we are really committed to training’

Julie Thurlow – Hinks Insurance

Hinks Insurance is a forward thinking and progressive company who recognise the benefits of investing in young talent. Since July of this year (2018) they have recruited four Apprentices, namely Philip Riddington, Alex Crane, Jack Fox and Tammeshia Dudding. In addition, the company also employ Jasmin Randerson who joined Hinks Insurance in 2015 as a trainee and then progressed on to the Apprenticeship, before establishing herself within the firm.

As is the case with many employers, Hinks have found it difficult to attract the right calibre of staff with the quality and experience they are looking for. In response to this, they have decided to maximise the many benefits of the Apprenticeship programme and have chosen to attract good quality young people they can mould and develop within the business.

As a company, Hinks are really committed to training. All staff undertake regular ongoing CPD and they have a separate boardroom complete with a screen to carry out training activities.

Julie Thurlow (Director) considers this to be ‘best practice for the industry’ and believes that Apprenticeships work well for Hinks. ‘As a company, we have every confidence in the Apprenticeship and look forward to developing our successful partnership with McArthur Dean in the coming years’.
